GEICO pulls its ads from the Glenn Beck show

August 13, 2009

The Huffington Post started a campaign to get the advertisers on the Glenn Beck show to pull thier ads. So far, Lawyers.com, Progressive Insurance, Procter & Gamble, and SC Johnson have caved in and pulled their ads. And now GEICO.  In response to their “success” the Huffington Post writes:

We’re making incredible progress. As Glenn Beck’s advertisers learn of his hateful rhetoric, and how deeply it concerns thousands of organized people across the country, they’re deciding that they don’t want their companies associated with Beck’s divisive fear-mongering.

So this is what they call “incredible success?” Hmm, stopping the flow of free markets is a success? Fear mongering? Would you like to back up that charge? HP should stop meddling with advertisers. Instead of focusing on advertisers, why don’t they go on the Glenn Beck show and confront him and FOX for what they believe are their wrongdoings? No, they won’t do that.

Hat tip to Pamela Geller.
